C.C. Fisher is an emerging documentarian and MFA candidate in Documentary Expression with SouthDocs and the Center for the Study of Southern Culture at the University of Mississippi. With a robust academic foundation, including a Ph.D. in Business Administration from Hampton University and a B.A. in History from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, C.C. brings a unique analytical lens to storytelling.
His interdisciplinary career spans over eight years in academia, college wrestling coaching, and as a former professional athlete, emphasizing innovation and community impact. A seasoned educator and researcher, C.C. integrates advanced data analysis, AI, and digital marketing into his projects. His work often explores cultural narratives and systemic dynamics, aiming to foster understanding and drive meaningful dialogue.

An interdisciplinary visual project interrogating the relationships between the Black body, social ritual, and institutional power through performance, documentary form, and conceptual photography. Drawing from theories of embodiment, mourning, and cultural memory, Body Politic engages both scholarly and creative frameworks to examine how collective identity is inscribed, disciplined, and reclaimed across Southern space and history. Developed through the lens of hybrid ethnography and critical visual studies, the project bridges artistic inquiry with academic research methodologies.

A feature-length documentary examining the rise of Durham’s historic Hayti community through the lens of Dr. Miles Mark Fisher—pastor, scholar, and civil rights leader whose work helped shape the theological, educational, and economic foundations of Black Durham. The film integrates archival research, oral histories, and contemporary interviews to explore faith, entrepreneurship, and social mobility in the early- to mid-20th-century South. Developed as part of The Fishers of Men documentary series, Bedrock of Hayti contributes to interdisciplinary dialogues in Black religious history, urban studies, and visual ethnography.
